Poem: Heart

I talk in terror,
but mumble in fear.
I speak with my eyes closed,
avoid every tear.

I make a confession,
I make a choice.
I cry out and louder
no one hears my voice.

The setting it dimmers,
the heart fades away.
I’m sitting here hopeless
no smile for a day.

My heart it grows fonder
as time fades away.
And yet I don’t think of
a thing to say.
